Base Salary
$215k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the long-term architecture for Alteryx’s cloud platform and drive migrations and modernization initiatives.
- Design highly available, scalable architectures across compute, networking, storage, and platform services.
- Architect shared Kubernetes and containerized platform infrastructure for multi-tenant SaaS.
- Establish reference architectures and best practices and lead architecture reviews for security, scalability, and reliability.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Platform, SRE, Security, and Product Engineering teams on strategy and execution.
- Improve CI/CD and developer tooling with Platform Engineering to make infrastructure consumable by product teams.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, prototype approaches, and address architectural debt.
- Mentor senior engineers and raise architectural maturity across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software or cloud infrastructure engineering, including experience at the Principal Engineer or Architect level.
- Proven experience architecting large-scale, multi-region, multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS platforms.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and containerized platforms.
- Strong experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure; GCP is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, including load balancing, service discovery, ingress, DNS, and service mesh.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
- Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Datadog.
- Strong coding skills in Java, Python, Go, or similar languages.
- Experience leading enterprise cloud migrations or platform engineering builds is valued.
- Experience with AI, analytics, or large-scale data platforms is valued.
- Cloud security, governance, or compliance experience is valued.
- Excellent communication and consensus-building skills across engineering organizations.
