Responsibilities

  • Study customer and internal specifications and create component design documents based on the software architecture.
  • Develop, modify, port, and maintain embedded software components using C++ and Linux.
  • Resolve unclear technical requirements with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with customers on requirements and issues.
  • Perform code reviews, functional testing, unit testing, and system-level testing.
  • Debug software with gdb, conduct root-cause analysis, fix defects, and verify corrective actions.
  • Analyze and improve software KPIs and address product requirements or performance issues with the software team leader.
  • Communicate and coordinate software development with HARMAN colleagues, including occasional travel for training or coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another relevant IT-connected specialization.
  • At least 4 years of experience as a software developer.
  • At least 3 years of experience with C++ and good knowledge of C++.
  • Good knowledge of Embedded Linux and Linux, including experience developing embedded applications.
  • Knowledge of inter-process communication, threading, socket communication, embedded operating systems, and software development processes.
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with TCP, UDP, MQTT, CAN protocols, UML, and Linux Kernel development.
  • Willingness to travel 0–20% of the time depending on project needs.
