Responsibilities
- Serve as the trusted technical advisor for strategic enterprise accounts and build relationships with data, AI/ML, and platform engineering leaders.
- Design and help implement GenAI, machine learning, data engineering, data warehousing, and modern lakehouse architectures on Databricks.
- Build proofs of concept and validate integrations with cloud services, internal tools, and third-party applications.
- Partner with sales teams on technical leadership, account strategies, book-of-business development, and customer solutions.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, regional field teams, and other Solutions Architects to provide consistent global architectural guidance.
- Promote Databricks-inspired open-source projects including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Unity Catalog, and recruit developer contributors.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, technical architecture, or a similar pre-sales or consulting role.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with big data and AI technologies, including Apache Spark, data engineering, data science, and modern AI/ML workloads.
- Strong hands-on architecture skills, including the ability to whiteboard, design, and personally build end-to-end solutions.
- Experience supporting large enterprise or Fortune 500 customers; global account experience across multiple geographies is preferred.
- Customer-facing consulting experience with external clients across multiple industries.
- Coding experience in Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
- Experience building distributed data systems at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with digital-native or SaaS enterprises and mature data and AI practices is a plus.
- Global Capability Center experience and Databricks Certification are nice to have.
- Ability to travel to regional customers and occasionally internationally.
