Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop scalable AI platforms supporting healthcare-focused large language model applications.
- Build frameworks and AI pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data, including FHIR, HL7, clinical notes, and claims data.
- Develop platform capabilities for domain-specific AI architectures supporting clinical decision-making, revenue cycle management, and patient engagement.
- Serve as the primary technical authority for AI platform development across product teams.
- Mentor junior AI designers and engineers through code reviews, research guidance, and technical workshops.
- Implement model evaluation frameworks for accuracy, robustness, and fairness.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy and data security regulations including HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Partner with engineering teams to transition research prototypes into production environments.
- Drive internal knowledge-sharing on AI trends, frameworks, and best practices.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field and 10+ years of AI/ML platform development experience, or the stated alternative of a 15+ year software engineering background with 10+ years building AI/ML platforms.
- Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning libraries.
- Experience with GenAI, LLMs, transformer architectures, and model routing across open-source and proprietary models.
- Hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
- Deep experience building enterprise-grade RAG systems, including chunking, hybrid search, vector databases, and retrieval optimization.
- Experience with autonomous AI agents, reasoning systems, Agent-to-Agent communication protocols, and the Model Context Protocol.
- Advanced knowledge of agent context management, stateful memory, caching, context-window optimization, and long-running agent contexts.
- Experience with observability, logging, scalable systems, and LLM/agent tracing.
- Strong experience applying AI architectures to scalable enterprise platforms and complex use cases.
- Strong background in cloud platforms, on-premises deployments, MLOps, and LLMOps.
- Preferred experience with Neo4j, NoSQL and SQL databases, native vector databases, GraphRAG, and hybrid retrieval architectures.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, Ragas, TruLens, LLM-as-a-Judge, LoRA, and PEFT.
- Knowledge of model fine-tuning, model distillation, AI guardrails, prompt-injection defenses, and output validation mechanisms.
- Ability to take complex AI architecture and design concepts through highly available, production-grade deployment.
