Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable, resilient Azure AI Foundry environments aligned with enterprise cloud architecture and Azure Landing Zone principles.
- Integrate Azure AI Foundry with Azure OpenAI Service, model catalogues, prompt flows, AI Search, vector databases, and custom AI tooling.
- Define reusable architecture patterns, platform standards, deployment patterns, observability, and operational management for AI workloads.
- Establish governance, risk, compliance, responsible-AI, evaluation, audit logging, monitoring, and traceability frameworks.
- Design and implement control-plane and data-plane security using Private Endpoints, VNets, Managed Identities, Microsoft Entra ID, and zero-trust principles.
- Design highly available, multi-region where required, low-latency AI architectures and manage capacity, quotas, API rate limits, and Provisioned Throughput Units.
- Establish FinOps frameworks covering chargeback/showback, resource tagging, cost allocation, budgets, alerts, quotas, and AI consumption optimisation.
- Design automated deployment pipelines, infrastructure provisioning, prompt-flow evaluation, model deployment, testing, release management, and platform observability.
- Collaborate with AI Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Security, DevOps, Architecture, finance, and other stakeholders to deliver production-ready enterprise AI platforms.
- Travel to the client site in Southampton 2–3 days per week.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Azure cloud architecture, engineering, or platform engineering.
- At least 1–2 years of experience specifically focused on enterprise AI/ML platform engineering.
- Proven experience working in large-scale or enterprise Azure environments.
- A strong track record of translating business and technical requirements into enterprise architecture.
- Experience collaborating with AI Engineers, Cloud Engineers, Security, DevOps, and Architecture teams.
- Hands-on engineering capability combined with strategic architectural thinking and technical leadership.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, cloud governance, AI platform scalability, reliability, and cost optimisation.
- Financial experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) and Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102).
