Responsibilities
- Design, document, build, and maintain scalable multi-region infrastructure on GCP.
- Ensure cloud environment performance, reliability, security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes while minimizing manual implementation.
- Operate GCP key and secret management using Cloud KMS, Cloud External Key Manager, and Secret Manager, including cryptographic key ceremonies.
- Diagnose and resolve client-reported infrastructure issues while maintaining security and performance.
- Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception through production operation and shape platform architecture, tooling, and automation.
- Write technical documentation, RFCs, ADRs, runbooks, and operating models, and host team training sessions.
- Lead by example and establish a high technical standard for the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Proven GCP multi-region disaster recovery experience.
- Experience bootstrapping Google Cloud Organizations, applying policies, and structuring enterprise resource hierarchies.
- Experience with GKE, Compute Engine, Network Connectivity Center, Cloud SQL, IAM, and VPC Service Controls.
- Experience writing clean, modular Terraform code and building containerized distributed systems.
- Experience with GCP key and secret management, including Cloud KMS, Cloud External Key Manager, Secret Manager, and cryptographic key ceremonies.
- Experience designing hybrid connectivity to co-located Payment HSMs using Network Connectivity Center, Cloud VPN, and Dedicated or Partner Interconnect.
- Experience with Workload Identity, Workload Identity Federation, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling.
- Experience with Google Workspace, Google Cloud Identity, and automation using Python or Go.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, networking, routing, database monitoring, disaster recovery, and performance tuning.
- Comfort writing RFCs and ADRs through implementation and production operation with documented runbooks.
- Preferred experience with Zero Trust security, mTLS, SSO, AWS, bash, Golang, Java, on-premises connectivity, and Claude Skills.
