Responsibilities
- Modernize and scale the RDS fleet through automated multi-version upgrades and proactive performance tuning.
- Architect cross-cloud database portability across AWS and GCP using CNPG and cloud-native patterns.
- Build proactive monitoring and alerting for database performance and health.
- Support replication, data streaming, and zero-downtime migration strategies.
- Design and implement business continuity, disaster recovery, and regional recovery automation.
- Build Java backend services and use code-driven automation to orchestrate the database layer.
Requirements
- Extensive PostgreSQL experience and expertise running stateful workloads on Kubernetes with CNPG.
- Experience managing infrastructure with Terraform and custom APIs.
- Knowledge of multi-tenant, multi-region, and multi-cloud distributed systems, data integrity, and data mobility.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and Humio.
- Strong security mindset and ability to implement automated guardrails.
- Ability to build robust Java services with clean relational modeling and performant DDL.
