Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services for bank transfers, open banking, savings accounts, and payment processing.
- Own features and projects end to end, including scoping, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Lead critical infrastructure and banking-core migrations without disrupting live customer experiences.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, security, and operations teams on requirements, architecture, and delivery.
- Support fellow developers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
- Shape technical architecture, lead code reviews, and promote best practices in code quality, testing, automation, and security.
- Build tools and systems that improve operational efficiency and reliability, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortems.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Go, Kotlin, or Python and a track record of building scalable, production-grade backend services.
- Experience with AWS or a comparable cloud platform and container orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, distributed systems, and high-availability trade-offs.
- Comfort working in complex, regulated environments such as financial services, payments, or other high-stakes domains.
- Ability to collaborate, work independently, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Previous experience on a growth-focused engineering team is a plus.
- Familiarity with fintech or banking regulatory landscapes is a plus.
