Responsibilities
- Design, build, optimize, and debug real-time embedded software and firmware for custom microcontrollers and embedded Linux platforms.
- Own gimbal control algorithms, contribute to GNC software frameworks, and lead initiatives for multi-axis systems and sensor integrations.
- Develop PC software tools and diagnostic utilities for telemetry, calibration, friction, and motor/IMU communication analysis.
- Prepare and participate in flight tests, laboratory experiments, and post-flight telemetry analysis.
- Define software architecture and rigorous protocols supporting system integrity, performance, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong academic foundation or a proven, verifiable track record delivering complex robotic or embedded systems software.
- Solid experience with embedded software development in C/C++, microcontrollers, and embedded Linux, including real-time constraints and low-level debugging.
- Strong knowledge of robotics concepts, linear algebra, and mathematics including quaternions, matrices, attitude, pose, reference/setpoint, and estimation.
- Familiarity with GNC frameworks and robotic architectures such as autopilots for drones, rovers, or autonomous vehicles.
- Experience understanding and enhancing large-scale robotic codebases.
- Methodical and investigative approach to diagnostics, calibration, friction analysis, and telemetry analysis.
- Comfort working across desk-based coding, hands-on laboratory activities, and field testing in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across software, hardware, mechanical, GNC, and test teams.
- Willingness to provide full commitment to the company’s mission and operational objectives.
