Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement systems software that improves product stability, scalability, availability, latency, and efficiency.
- Own one or more services and make decisions that benefit the business and customers.
- Solve production-system problems and build automation to prevent recurring incidents.
- Build monitoring and observability systems, respond to outages, and participate in the on-call rotation.
- Build and run capacity tests and plan for reliability across multinational data centers.
- Develop tools that help product teams deploy thousands of change sets each day.
- Advocate for engineering best practices and contribute to interviewing, onboarding, and recruitment efforts.
Requirements
- Proven experience solving algorithmic problems in at least one backend programming language, including Java, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- Experience building, operating, and maintaining scalable distributed systems and operations automation.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies and knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals.
- Validated foundation in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of service-level agreements and service-level objectives.
- Experience with monitoring and observability technologies such as Prometheus, Graphite, Grafana, Kibana, and Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Kubernetes or OpenStack is nice to have.
- Experience in networking, security, or storage is a plus.
- Good interpersonal skills and proficient written and spoken English and Chinese are required.
