Base Salary
$147k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly scalable software systems and backend infrastructure for information retrieval on Large Language Models.
- Design and iterate on systems that retrieve rights-protected content, define quality signals, extract data, and build evaluation models.
- Partner with engineering, product management, and research teams across NotebookLM, Play Books, Core Data, and Search to integrate premium knowledge into generative AI surfaces.
- Establish technical direction and deliver results for a new organizational effort.
- Maintain standards for code quality, system reliability, engineering practices, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience using C++ and Java.
- Experience with information retrieval, search infrastructure, ranking systems, data quality, or signal extraction for content evaluation.
- Experience with large-scale data analysis, data pipelines such as Flume, and statistical methods.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Preferred: experience developing accessible technologies.
Benefits
- US base salary of $147000-$210000, plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
