Responsibilities
- Design and deliver Java and Spring Boot services and REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Build event-driven, streaming, and bulk data distribution paths using Kafka and MQ.
- Own services from design through production stability and provide production support.
- Trace instrument data across ingestion, enrichment, storage, and downstream distribution to resolve root causes.
- Develop and maintain production code, Drools business rules, and database changes.
- Create architecture and design artifacts and ensure design constraints are implemented in code.
- Perform code reviews, automated and BDD testing, quality improvements, and framework and security-vulnerability upgrades.
- Mentor engineers and contribute reusable engineering patterns and tooling.
- Build AI-based and automated developer tooling and validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver globally scalable investment-operations platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot in production enterprise services.
- Experience with event and Kafka streaming, GraphQL and REST APIs, bulk data methods, relational SQL databases, and at least one NoSQL store.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, debugging, production support, and operational stability.
- Understanding of software development life cycle practices, agile delivery, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and critically evaluating, validating, and refining their output.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs and outputs.
- Preferred knowledge of data mesh distribution patterns using Snowflake and Starburst.
- Preferred experience with AWS services and infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
- Preferred experience with Drools, Spring Batch, Liquibase, and Cucumber.
- Preferred knowledge of financial instrument reference data, including ISIN, CUSIP, SEDOL, asset classes, and security master concepts.
- Knowledge of Python and interest or experience in AI, agentic tooling, or developer-automation platforms are preferred.
