Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services for complex, high-throughput systems.
- Engineer scalable and resilient Spring Boot microservices with strong performance, stability, observability, and operability.
- Partner with product, operations, and technology stakeholders to clarify requirements, shape solutions, and influence decisions.
- Lead architecture and engineering best practices including clean code, automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and continuous improvement.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools to improve coding, testing, documentation, analysis, delivery speed, and quality.
- Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, secure coding standards, and critical evaluation.
- Share responsible AI usage learnings and reusable automation patterns with the broader team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with advanced applied experience.
- Strong Java expertise through Java 21, including modern language features and best practices.
- Extensive experience building and designing scalable, resilient, and maintainable Spring Boot microservices.
- Experience with modern distributed systems and technologies such as Apache Kafka and Cassandra, plus working knowledge of React JS.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Cloud Foundry and with cloud-native engineering practices.
- Strong problem-solving ability and experience translating ambiguous business requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence across teams.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation.
- Ability to critically evaluate and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI usage, data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
- Ability to guide peers on safe and effective AI-assisted engineering practices.
