Responsibilities
- Build and enhance regulatory controls and operational risk platforms using Java or Python.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable software applications.
- Develop event-driven microservices and Kafka streaming solutions on AWS.
- Apply Terraform and cloud infrastructure experience to production applications.
- Create production-quality code and architecture and design artifacts for complex applications.
- Analyze problems and data patterns to improve coding hygiene, application quality, and system architecture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to software engineering communities of practice.
- Support application deployment, maintenance, operational stability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with solid applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Java or Python programming experience, including event-driven microservices and Kafka streaming.
- Experience with AWS public cloud infrastructure and hands-on Terraform skills.
- Proficiency in RDBMS concepts, SQL querying, automation, continuous delivery methods, and the software development lifecycle.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems.
- Advanced understanding of application resiliency, security, and the stated development practices.
- Preferred: regulatory technology or operational risk platform experience, cloud and DevOps familiarity, financial services standards knowledge, microservices exposure, automated testing and CI/CD tools, and mentoring experience.
