Base Salary
$149k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement next-generation Ingress Gateway control and data planes.
- Build scalable L4/L7 load balancing and proxy platforms with TLS termination, end-to-end encryption, traffic policies, and access control.
- Design, develop, debug, operate, and own resilient distributed systems across thousands of compute nodes and multiple data centers.
- Build reliable and self-healing services while balancing live-site management, feature delivery, and technical debt retirement.
- Contribute to open-source projects such as Envoy and Istio.
- Learn and operate the team’s cloud-native service mesh, Kubernetes, deployment, and networking stack.
Requirements
- Experienced distributed systems software engineer capable of owning significant parts of the technical vision.
- Experience with service ownership and building reliable, self-healing services.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, TLS termination, and HTTP proxies.
- Experience designing, developing, debugging, and operating resilient distributed systems at large scale.
- Ability to work across live-site management, feature delivery, technical debt retirement, quality coding, test coverage, high availability, and security.
- Openness to working in an agile environment and delivering within milestones and dependency constraints.
