Responsibilities
- Lead applications development and systems analysis activities for new and revised application systems.
- Architect, develop, and deliver complex Python applications from inception through production deployment.
- Partner with management teams to integrate functions, define system enhancements, and deliver new products and process improvements.
- Analyze complex business and system processes, resolve high-impact problems, and develop innovative solutions.
- Establish standards for application design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and automated deployment.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, code reviews, and work allocation for developers and analysts.
- Assess and manage technology, operational, compliance, and business risks while safeguarding company and client assets.
- Communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and manage strategic software development initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in applications development or systems analysis, with substantial Python experience.
- Expert-level Python application development expertise, including Django, Flask, FastAPI, software architecture, object-oriented programming, and distributed-system design.
- Experience leading, architecting, and delivering complex software projects and providing technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, secure RESTful APIs, and application integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Proficiency with Pytest, unittest, debugging, performance optimization, secure coding, OWASP Top 10, data encryption, access control, and Git.
- Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Copilot, Devin, Windsurf, Antigravity, Claude, Gemini, GPT, agentic AI tools, and generative AI concepts.
- Familiarity with Java, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, data processing pipelines, data warehousing, React, Angular, and Vue.js.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud technologies, application security, Agile/Scrum, stakeholder communication, resource allocation, and project leadership.
- Bachelor’s or university degree or equivalent experience is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Relevant cloud, project management, or Agile certifications such as AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, Google Cloud Professional Developer, PMP, CSM, or CSPO are relevant.
- Understanding of financial services, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards.
