Responsibilities
- Design and architect scalable cloud infrastructure, platform services, and distributed systems targeting 10X improvements in reliability, availability, performance, and efficiency.
- Build self-service application deployment automation and infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform, Python, Go, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Provide roadmaps and technical vision for cloud infrastructure and platform services capable of achieving 99.999% availability.
- Develop network, infrastructure, machine-type, deployment, CDN, domain, role-management, and cloud-security recommendations.
- Operate and optimize production deployments across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments, including Kubernetes, Docker, and Linux systems.
- Analyze performance, scalability, availability, and operational-excellence issues and automate continuous integration and infrastructure processes.
- Influence multiple engineering teams through architecture guidance, technical leadership, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and lead engineers on mission-critical cloud engineering projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of total experience.
- 12+ years of hands-on cloud platform engineering experience preferred, or equivalent experience associated with the preferred degree requirement.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, Cloud DevOps, and Cloud SRE preferred.
- 10+ years of experience leading system design and architecture using AWS or Azure services preferred.
- 10+ years of experience building and operating infrastructure as code and working with Linux environments preferred.
- 10+ years of experience building and managing high-performance, highly available, scalable distributed and hybrid-cloud systems preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Python or Go, and automated application-stack deployments.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux, cloud-service integrations, and cloud automation tools.
- Advanced AWS architecture or development certification is preferred.
- Team-leading experience and excellent cross-group collaboration, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, system-design, performance, scalability, and enterprise-architecture capabilities.
