Responsibilities
- Build and operate a cloud platform that helps engineering teams deliver and run products reliably and efficiently.
- Own the software delivery, support, maintenance, feedback, and continuous improvement lifecycle for assigned platform products.
- Maintain platform quality across resiliency, security, scalability, cost optimization, and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with technical product owners, delivery managers, staff and principal engineers, senior engineering managers, and infrastructure leaders on priorities and roadmaps.
- Identify and manage technology, delivery, operational, incident, and risk issues across the organization.
- Apply platform best practices and agile principles to support team collaboration, innovation, and successful delivery.
Requirements
- Experience working in a platform environment.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and templates, Azure, networking, identity management, Service Fabric, AKS, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Elasticsearch.
- Proven experience enabling or supporting engineering teams in a DevOps or platform environment.
- A proactive approach to problem, incident, risk management, and resolution.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align teams and stakeholders around a platform vision.
- Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven architecture, and related patterns.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, preferably Azure Kubernetes solutions, Azure storage technologies, Azure Insights monitoring and alerting, and architectural decision records is preferred.
