Responsibilities
- Build software modules that interact with datacenters, industrial power systems, and the electrical grid.
- Architect and implement pipelines that collect, normalize, and persist high-frequency telemetry from power meters, PDUs, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, and compute hardware.
- Design fault-tolerant integration layers between cloud APIs, databases, orchestration platforms, and OT systems.
- Implement protocol translation and data model definition and mapping across IT and OT environments.
- Ensure safe, reliable, and correct behavior when interacting with real-world energy assets, including degraded, disconnected, and split-brain network states.
- Deliver end-to-end solutions from edge devices to the control plane and own projects through completion.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or Rust, Go, or C/C++.
- Hands-on experience building telemetry ingest pipelines or distributed systems handling high-volume time-series data.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or an equivalent asynchronous messaging system.
- Exposure to IT or OT systems such as SCADA, EMS, BMS, or DCIM.
- Preferred experience with Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, OPC-UA, BACnet, or SNMP.
- Preferred familiarity with InfluxDB, TimescaleDB, Prometheus, AVEVA PI / OSIsoft, or Ignition.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containerized deployments, or HPC job scheduling is preferred.
- Background in power systems, energy markets, microgrids, or datacenter infrastructure is preferred.
- Understanding of PID loops, state machines, setpoint control, or demand response logic is preferred.
- Experience with edge compute runtimes, constrained environments, optimization algorithms, or energy management strategies is a plus.
