Responsibilities
- Gather requirements, document specifications, and participate in Agile development of web applications.
- Design and develop front-end UX/UI and back-end web application functionality.
- Maintain existing applications, underlying environments, in-house products, and COTS products.
- Build and maintain software for migration from legacy systems.
- Work with project management teams to develop project timelines and development estimates.
- Research and advise on software engineering and information management issues.
- Develop and maintain applications using Docker containerization from a cloud provider.
- Provide assistance to staff with customer issues.
- Maintain or obtain additional professional industry-standard certifications as required by the agency.
Requirements
- Professional or vendor certification in database administration is required.
- A bachelor’s degree and two years of satisfactory full-time database administration experience, including database design, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, integration, performance monitoring, maintenance, enhancement, and security management.
- Alternatively, a four-year high school diploma or equivalent and six years of satisfactory full-time IT experience, including at least two years of database administration experience.
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
- Undergraduate education may substitute for IT experience at 30 semester credits per six months, but not for required database administration experience.
- A master’s degree in computer science or a related field may substitute for one year of database administration experience.
- All candidates must have at least one year of satisfactory full-time database administration experience.
- Experience must be full-time and not classroom-based.
