Responsibilities
- Implement and test features related to query compilation, compiler design, and query execution.
- Contribute to database engineering, service runtime, streaming and data pipelines, metadata, Streamlit, and cloud engineering projects.
- Work on high-performance large-scale data processing, distributed systems, software-as-a-service platforms, and stability and performance testing frameworks.
- Learn and contribute to enterprise-grade reliable and trustworthy software and services used by customers.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university program during the internship.
- Completed BS degree required, with an MS or PhD in progress.
- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related major is desired.
- Coursework in algorithms, data structures, and operating systems is required; database systems, distributed systems, geospatial systems, cloud computing, and compilers coursework is recommended.
- Excellent programming skills in C++ or Java are required.
- Experience with big data engineering or processing and data migration is required.
- Systems programming experience, including multithreading and concurrency, is expected.
- Research or publications in databases or distributed systems, geo-feature processing experience, and open-source contributions are bonus qualifications.
- Fluent written and spoken English, strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn quickly, teamwork experience, and passion for technology are expected.
