Responsibilities
- Lead SDN application functions for multi-layer path computation, service orchestration, service discovery, and service modeling.
- Develop Layer 0 DWDM, Layer 1 OTN, and Layer 2 packet SDN applications for a network management system.
- Analyze requirements, design architectures and data models, and develop and maintain software components.
- Participate in Open ROADM technical discussions and address service-modeling and vendor-interoperability challenges.
- Contribute to telecommunications and data-communications domain modeling using ITU-T, ONF, and MTNM standards.
- Own application quality, investigate system-test issues, and drive features through end-to-end delivery.
- Interface with, monitor, and evaluate external software vendors providing platform software.
- Provide technical leadership while managing multiple tasks and complex requirements.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience developing transport network management products across DWDM, OTN, and packet technologies.
- Expertise in Core Java, Scala, object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, and UML modeling.
- Hands-on OpenDaylight and SDN controller development experience.
- Experience with NETCONF, TL1, YANG, JSON, and XML.
- Experience with Oracle, MySQL, or Cassandra databases.
- Experience completing at least two to three full development cycles for network management system products.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, HDFS, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Spark, and distributed big-data systems.
- Expertise designing and developing REST APIs and exposure to Kafka, OSGi, Spring, and Blueprint.
- Experience with unit testing and CI frameworks or tools including JUnit, Jenkins, and Postman.
- Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, Jira, and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to lead end-to-end feature development.
- Preferred experience includes graph databases or data structures and path-computation algorithms such as Dijkstra and Yen.
