Base Salary
$190k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and tune robotics software for locomotion, whole-body control, and manipulation on bi-dexterous robot platforms.
- Bring up software and hardware on new robot generations and own subsystem integration across actuators, sensors, motor controllers, and onboard compute.
- Develop and maintain reliable, performant, testable real-time control software in C++.
- Build simulation infrastructure and validate robot behaviors in physics-based environments before hardware deployment.
- Debug physical robot failures and analyze telemetry and log data to improve system robustness.
- Develop scalable fleet monitoring, behavior testing, operator interface, and CI/CD tooling.
- Work with teleoperation and data-collection systems to support learning-based policy development.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and AI/ML teams on end-to-end subsystem integration.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 4+ years of professional robotics development experience, including experience with physical hardware.
- Strong proficiency in C++, including multithreading, memory management, and real-time systems; Python experience for tooling and scripting.
- Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, control theory, and state estimation.
- Experience with embedded or low-level systems and communication protocols such as CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, and serial.
- Ability to work in a Linux development environment and debug complex hardware-software interactions.
- Comfort operating and iterating directly on robot hardware.
- Preferred experience with bi-dexterous robots, ROS/ROS2 or similar robotics middleware, reinforcement learning or imitation learning, and deploying learned policies to hardware.
- Preferred experience with MuJoCo, Gazebo, or NVIDIA Isaac Sim, as well as SLAM, path planning, perception pipelines, and sensor fusion across IMU, lidar, cameras, and force/torque sensors.
- Preferred experience in environments involving rapid hardware iteration and tight design cycles.
