Base Salary
$190k - $271k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and tune robotics software for locomotion, whole-body control, and manipulation.
- Bring up software and hardware on new robot generations and own subsystem integration across actuators, sensors, motor controllers, and onboard compute.
- Develop reliable, performant, testable real-time control software in C++.
- Build simulation infrastructure and validate robot behaviors in physics-based environments before hardware deployment.
- Debug physical robot failures and analyze telemetry and logs to improve system robustness.
- Develop scalable tooling for fleet monitoring, behavior testing, operator interfaces, and engineering infrastructure.
- Work with teleoperation and data collection systems to support learning-based policy development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least four years of professional robotics development experience, including work on physical hardware.
- Strong C++ proficiency, including multithreading, memory management, and real-time systems, plus Python for tooling and scripting.
- Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, control theory, and state estimation.
- Experience with embedded or low-level systems and communication protocols including CAN, EtherCAT, Ethernet, and serial.
- Ability to work in Linux and debug complex hardware-software interactions.
- Comfort operating and iterating directly on robot hardware.
- Preferred experience includes bi-dexterous robots, ROS/ROS2, reinforcement or imitation learning, physics simulators, SLAM, path planning, perception pipelines, and sensor fusion.
