Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain sensor drivers, ROS 2 packages, and SDK components for Lyte LiDAR and camera data on NVIDIA Jetson and x86 GPU platforms.
  • Build GPU-accelerated point-cloud filtering, clustering, camera-to-LiDAR projection, image rectification, motion compensation, and ego-velocity or odometry processing.
  • Own Ethernet sensor data-path correctness, including PTP synchronization, packet parsing, timestamping, and frame assembly.
  • Design calibration, KPI, and end-of-line test pipelines, including automation for robotic arms and data-acquisition stations.
  • Build recording, playback, visualization, and debugging tools using pcap, MCAP, Foxglove, and compressed video.
  • Own Docker images, ROS 2 distributions, Python and C++ packaging, GitLab CI, Jenkins pipelines, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and release automation.
  • Act as first responder for integration issues, reproduce and fix problems from logs and recordings, and improve tooling and documentation.
  • Collaborate with hardware, silicon, algorithm, manufacturing, internal, and customer teams to turn prototypes into maintained, tested, reusable components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience on systems interfacing with real sensors or hardware.
  • Expert-level modern C++ including C++17 or newer, Python, CMake-based builds, and Python packaging.
  • Hands-on ROS 2 or comparable robotics middleware experience and Linux systems programming involving networking and multithreaded real-time data paths.
  • Working knowledge of CUDA or another GPU compute framework and deployment on NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded GPU platforms.
  • Experience building and maintaining Docker-based development environments and CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and Jenkins or equivalent.
  • Ability to take prototypes to maintained, tested, documented components and own software components end to end.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines and time zones.
  • Preferred experience with LiDAR or camera integration, point-cloud processing, camera calibration and rectification, PTP, and hardware triggers.
  • Preferred experience with NVIDIA Holoscan, Isaac ROS, NITROS, TensorRT, state estimation, odometry, visual-inertial odometry, factor-graph optimization, or FMCW/Doppler signal processing.
  • Preferred experience with MCAP/rosbag, Foxglove, pcap analysis, Parquet ingestion, manufacturing test environments, robotic fixtures, production image release discipline, Python/C++ interoperability, profiling, and micro-benchmarking.
  • Preferred experience with hardware-in-the-loop CI, Jenkins device agents, Groovy shared libraries, Gerrit or GitLab device pipelines, and startup or small-team environments.
  • A related MS or PhD is a plus but not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Flexible vacation and time-off policy.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced, and inclusive work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge Physical AI technologies with a highly cross-functional team.
  • The role is based with Lyte, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with a global presence; benefits are subject to location and local regulations.
