Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and optimize various database technologies in multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views.
- Create, modify, and remove indices to enhance query performance.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Conduct disaster recovery drills and failover testing.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
- Collaborate with developers to design efficient data models and schemas.
- Implement security best practices and access controls.
- Manage database migrations, upgrades, and version control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional database engineering experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016 or later).
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
- Experience managing databases on AWS RDS and Aurora.
- Proficiency in backup/restore and disaster recovery planning.
- Knowledge of database security, encryption, and compliance standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
