Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and help lead the QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
  • Lead risk analysis and test planning for large-scale, multi-cloud registry, infrastructure, and container orchestration systems.
  • Architect test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components across multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Design production-like test scenarios covering workload scaling, failure injection, recovery, failover, system health, and network resilience.
  • Develop scalable test automation integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools.
  • Drive repeatable, extensible, and reliable infrastructure-as-code for test infrastructure.
  • Mentor QA engineers and developers in risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, and load testing.
  • Serve as the QA authority in design reviews, production readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives.
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for CI/CD test automation.
  • Establish quality gates, release-readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops.
  • Integrate performance, security, and chaos testing into the software development lifecycle.
  • Influence architecture decisions and advocate for quality across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles.
  • 4+ years focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
  • Proven experience building and scaling test strategies in enterprise-grade environments.
  • Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes such as Istio or Linkerd, and network policies.
  • Strong scripting and automation capabilities with Python, Pytest, and Bash.
  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes security, RBAC, secrets management, and performance benchmarking tools such as K6.
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture across AWS, Azure, and GCP, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD.
  • Moderate to advanced Linux knowledge, including Bash scripting and debugging, systemd and logs, networking, firewalling, routing, certificate and PKI management, Docker, containerd, kubectl, Helm, OCI registries, and GitOps/Flux.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and architectural thinking skills.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and executive-level audiences.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching at least one junior team member in testing fundamentals, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Preferred: contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects.
  • Preferred: experience implementing chaos engineering in Kubernetes environments.
  • Preferred: CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
