Responsibilities
- Contribute to the QA strategy for Mirantis Secure Registry, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
- Lead risk analysis and test planning for large-scale, multi-cloud registry, infrastructure, and container orchestration systems.
- Architect test frameworks and infrastructure for microservices and infrastructure components across multi-cluster and hybrid-cloud environments.
- Design production-like test scenarios covering workloads, scaling, failure injection, and recovery across distributed clusters.
- Develop scalable, maintainable test automation integrated with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and other CI/CD systems.
- Use Kubernetes APIs, Helm, and service mesh tools to automate system health, failover, and network-resilience testing.
- Drive repeatable, extensible, and reliable infrastructure-as-code for test infrastructure.
- Mentor QA engineers and developers in risk-based testing, chaos engineering, performance testing, and load testing.
- Establish quality gates, release-readiness metrics, and data-driven feedback loops.
- Integrate performance, security, and chaos testing into the software development lifecycle.
- Represent QA in design reviews, production-readiness assessments, and incident retrospectives.
- Collaborate with DevOps engineers on monitoring, alerting, and debugging strategies for test automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software testing or quality engineering roles.
- 4+ years focused on Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, and distributed systems.
- Proven leadership experience building and scaling test strategies in enterprise-grade environments.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals, cluster lifecycle management, Helm, service meshes, and network policies.
- Strong scripting and automation skills with Python, Pytest, and Bash.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Kubernetes RBAC, secrets management, and K6.
- Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure provisioning, and containerized CI/CD across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Moderate to advanced Linux knowledge, including Bash debugging, systemd and logs, networking, firewalling, routing, certificate and PKI management, containers, and Kubernetes tooling.
- Experience with Docker or containerd, kubectl, Helm with OCI registries, and GitOps or Flux for multi-cluster installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Exceptional problem-solving, architectural thinking, cross-functional influence, and communication skills.
- Experience mentoring or coaching at least one junior team member.
- Preferred: contributions to open-source Kubernetes or QA tooling projects, Kubernetes chaos-engineering experience, or CKA, CKAD, or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification.
