Responsibilities
- Enable engineering teams to create resilient systems at planetary scale.
- Build and improve tools that keep Shopify’s platform resilient and performant.
- Participate in on-call rotations, respond to automated alerts, and execute playbooks.
- Identify incident-management process gaps and develop production tooling and services.
- Improve platform signals and reduce noise to make debugging more efficient.
- Ensure recurring failures are addressed so Shopify does not fail for the same reason twice.
Requirements
- Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or software engineer is requested.
- Ability to work on production systems and build tools that improve platform resilience and performance.
- Availability for required on-call work.
- Ability to complete a live pair-programming interview using the candidate’s own IDE.
