Responsibilities
- Own product features end-to-end, from understanding customer problems through design, implementation, release, monitoring, and iteration.
- Build and scale Go backend services, APIs, and data-processing systems for AI spend and usage data.
- Develop TypeScript and React interfaces that present cost and usage information clearly to FinOps practitioners and platform engineers.
- Ensure product capabilities are available through APIs for both human users and agents.
- Apply AI tools throughout engineering workflows, including code exploration, prototyping, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
- Set engineering standards through design reviews, guardrails, mentoring, and technical direction.
- Understand AI spending economics, including token and model pricing, inference, GPU economics, and usage allocation.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience with multi-tenant SaaS products and end-to-end production ownership.
- Strong Go experience for backend services, APIs, data processing, and operational workloads.
- Strong TypeScript and modern React experience, including presenting data effectively.
- Ability to work across the stack from data models through user interfaces.
- Experience with public cloud, with GCP preferred and AWS or Azure also accepted.
- Working proficiency in SQL against an analytical store such as BigQuery.
- Product-oriented judgment, architectural knowledge, and the ability to set direction for others.
- Experience using AI tools across the engineering workflow and ability to discuss their benefits and limitations.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- FinOps or FinOps product knowledge is preferred.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience is a bonus.
- A portfolio demonstrating previously built work is a bonus.
