Responsibilities

  • Break larger projects into tasks, deliver them in phases, and collaborate with teammates for timely execution.
  • Design, develop, and launch backend systems that improve batch development, testing, workflows, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and infrastructure engineers on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts.
  • Navigate large codebases, debug code, write tested and extensible code, and provide code reviews.
  • Participate in team growth and development activities, including interviewing.

Requirements

  • At least 1.5 years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
  • Proficiency in Python or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
  • Ability to translate business scenarios into solutions spanning multiple software components.
  • Ability to write clear, well-tested, extensible code and debug others’ code.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
