Base Salary
$75k - $158k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain secure native Android applications using Kotlin and legacy Java.
- Architect maintainable mobile codebases using MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, and other modern patterns.
- Provide Android platform technical leadership and design recommendations aligned with Google Material Design guidelines.
- Participate in sprint and release planning, artifact creation, testing, demonstrations, retrospectives, and solution releases.
- Solve complex mobile challenges involving offline synchronization, local data encryption, battery optimization, and memory management.
- Resolve defects, ensure application quality and timeliness, and provide periodic performance reports.
- Collaborate with backend developers, UX/UI designers, product owners, teammates, and end users.
- Mentor junior and mid-level mobile developers and provide code-review guidance.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a CBP background investigation, including specified checks for felony convictions, illegal drug use, and misconduct.
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of related software engineering experience, including at least 4 years of hands-on native Android application development.
- Strong native Kotlin and Java experience, preferably using Android Studio, the Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and/or XML layouts.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs, web services, backend data stores, and JSON/XML.
- Experience with asynchronous programming, multithreading, and background processing using Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, or RxJava.
- Experience with source control and concurrent development workflows, with Git/GitFlow preferred.
- Knowledge of mobile software development lifecycles, secure local storage, Jetpack Security, and secure network communication.
- Preferred experience with full-motion video, ExoPlayer, interactive live data streaming, iOS development with Swift/Xcode, cross-platform frameworks, local mobile databases, mobile CI/CD pipelines, Google Play Console, Firebase App Distribution, AWS, and live interactive chat.
- Ability to communicate technical mobile concepts to nontechnical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
