Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build backend systems that ingest and process real-world documents from customer ERPs and inboxes.
- Develop production LLM agents that complete complex, multi-page compliance and food safety documents.
- Own features end to end across backend services, user-facing interfaces, and product workflows.
- Ship quickly and iterate based on direct user feedback.
- Collaborate with founders on product direction, technical decisions, and company strategy.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a founding engineer, founder, or one of the first 1 to 5 engineers at a seed or Series A startup.
- Demonstrated 0-to-1 ownership of production products or major features built and shipped end to end.
- Full-stack capability across backend services and user interfaces.
- Strong backend engineering experience with real-world data ingestion and relational schema design, including Postgres or an equivalent.
- Production experience building LLM and agent systems.
- A track record of increasing ownership, scope, and impact.
- Familiarity with JVM backends, preferably Kotlin and Spring Boot, plus React, Next.js, Postgres, and a major cloud provider.
- Experience integrating multiple model providers such as Gemini, Anthropic, or OpenAI is preferred.
- Side projects, open-source work, or independently launched products are strong signals.
- No degree or years-of-experience requirement.
- Must be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or clearly willing to relocate.
Benefits
- Base salary of $200,000 to $300,000 annually plus 0.5% to 2.0% equity.
- Fully on-site schedule, five days per week, in San Francisco, California.
