Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build and operate scalable data processing infrastructure.
- Design and develop tools to improve developer productivity and reduce overhead in data pipelines.
- Contribute to platform reliability, performance, and cost efficiency across large-scale data systems.
- Partner with data experts to evolve best practices, standards, and tooling.
- Support the adoption and migration of data pipelines onto new platform capabilities.
- Help shape the future of Spotify’s data ecosystem through continuous improvement and experimentation.
Requirements
- Experience building backend systems using Java.
- Familiarity with platform engineering concepts and data-intensive environments.
- Comfortable working with large-scale data using SQL and analytics platforms like BigQuery.
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark, Flink, or Beam.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, containerized applications, and DevOps practices.
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and its core concepts.
- Experience building or maintaining data pipelines using Scala and/or Python.
- Commitment to code quality, testing, and delivering reliable systems.
- Enjoyment of collaborative environments and navigating open-ended problems.
- Curiosity and motivation to use data to inform decisions.
