Responsibilities
- Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure for large software projects using MongoDB.
- Advise customers on MongoDB architecture patterns, optimization strategies, and business value.
- Own technical discovery, demonstrations, proofs of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation for sales opportunities.
- Partner with sales on account planning, opportunity qualification, prioritization, pipeline generation, and demand-generation initiatives.
- Build customer relationships, develop champions, and ensure customer success and satisfaction.
- Participate in industry trade shows and account-based marketing events to generate demand.
- Relay field feedback to the product team, improve MongoDB solutions and processes, and mentor Solutions Consulting team members.
- Continue product and industry training, including MongoDB Atlas, cloud services, Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, and modern AI architectures.
Requirements
- Ideally 8–11 years of related experience in a customer-facing role, including 5–7 years in pre-sales with enterprise software.
- At least 3 years of professional experience with modern scripting or programming languages such as Python, Node.js, SQL, C/C++, Java, or C#.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience reviewing complex application architectures and recommending technology improvements to customers.
- Strong presentation, communication, interpersonal, and technical-to-business communication skills.
- Ability to strategize with sales teams on multi-threaded account plans and coordinate internal and ecosystem resources.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Up to 25% travel is required.
- Database-selling or application-deployment experience with major cloud providers, database programming and data modeling, data engineering or AI/ML projects, legacy modernization, MongoDB Certification, and/or Cloud Provider Certification are advantageous.
