Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership across engineering platforms and developer tooling.
- Design, build, and evolve scalable capabilities that improve software development, integration, and delivery.
- Contribute to CI/CD, source control, automation, testing, security tooling, and artifact management.
- Build automated delivery capabilities that help engineers move safely from code to production.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the organisation using co-building and inner-source approaches.
- Apply engineering judgment to architecture, automation, controls, standards, reliability, and security.
- Solve complex technical problems, balance trade-offs, and provide technical direction and mentoring.
Requirements
- Significant hands-on software engineering experience with strong programming capability and experience designing and building complex software systems.
- Experience building engineering platforms, developer tooling, or capabilities used by engineering teams at scale.
- Strong knowledge of modern CI/CD and software delivery practices, including experience with areas such as GitHub, pipeline automation, source control, testing, security tooling, or artifact management.
- Experience integrating engineering tooling with cloud environments; AWS, Azure, or GCP experience is relevant.
- Understanding of secure software delivery practices, controls, and compliance in complex technology environments.
- Experience with AI-powered engineering practices and agentic capabilities that improve software delivery.
- Ability to work across technical boundaries, solve ambiguous problems, and influence engineering decisions beyond a single squad.
- Evidence of learning new technical areas, developing expertise, and delivering outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for guiding engineers and influencing stakeholders across an organisation.
