Responsibilities
- Advise engineering teams on deployment, containerization, build pipelines, and artifact verification for air-gapped, disconnected, and tactical edge environments.
- Provide design guidance on zero-trust architectures, highly available and reliable distributed systems, and operation of core system services.
- Bridge complex technical discussions among internal engineering teams, delivery partners, and external stakeholders.
- Translate designs into API definitions, code, automation scripts, infrastructure and security configuration, and CI/CD security-validation pipelines.
- Build, test, validate, and enforce technical security controls.
- Partner with Security Assurance and Compliance teams to implement and maintain controls aligned with the Information Security Manual and Protective Security Policy Framework.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or distributed systems within public-sector or other regulated environments.
- Experience building secure and reliable systems.
- Experience in software system architecture.
- Preferred experience owning and managing large projects, overseeing technical design and implementation, and collaborating cross-functionally.
- Preferred experience in software development and technical leadership.
- Preferred experience working in highly dynamic environments.
- Preferred experience with containers, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.
