Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Analyze customer use cases and signal-processing algorithms to define system and software requirements for embedded platforms.
- Evaluate CPU, DSP, FPGA, and hybrid architectures based on mission needs, performance, complexity, and resource constraints.
- Architect, design, implement, optimize, and port embedded middleware and application software for resource-constrained SoCs.
- Define functional splits between processors and FPGA-based programmable logic.
- Collaborate with spacecraft and satellite integrators to translate mission objectives into technical specifications and implementations.
- Provide mentoring, code reviews, and technical guidance to less-experienced engineers.
- Support efficient and reliable software development and deployment workflows through DevOps practices and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- A bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of embedded software development experience for resource-constrained CPU, DSP, or FPGA SoCs, with equivalent experience considered.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Strong foundation in signal-processing algorithms and their computational and resource implications.
- Experience deriving software and system architecture from algorithm analysis and mission requirements.
- Experience partitioning solutions between processors and programmable logic such as FPGA.
- Ability to work with customers and cross-disciplinary teams to translate concepts into specifications and implementations.
- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
- Familiarity with MATLAB and RTOS environments is a plus.
- Advanced experience in Python, MATLAB, or other high-level programming languages is preferred.
- Familiarity with multithreaded or multicore real-time operating concepts is preferred.
- Knowledge of high-level software architecture design and scalability principles is preferred.
- Active Secret clearance and demonstrated leadership abilities are preferred.
- Experience with DevOps practices, Agile software lifecycle tools, JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, and static analysis.
