Base Salary
$113k - $176k/yr
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational tasks on Wikimedia’s public-facing infrastructure.
- Implement and utilize configuration management and deployment tools like Puppet and Kubernetes.
- Lead continuous improvement by automating installation, configuration, and maintenance of services.
- Collaborate with product teams to design scalable functionality for users.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for incident response and system outages.
- Mentor peers in technical and operational areas of strength.
- Travel 1-2 times a year for in-person events and team meetings.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in an SRE/Operations/DevOps role.
- Proficiency in shell and scripting languages, particularly Python.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet and Ansible.
- Strong Linux system-level troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in managing infrastructure security for diverse services.
- Ability to work independently in a globally distributed team.
- Experience leading incident response and conducting root cause analysis.
