Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and ship engineering and data products that transform how Windows is built and shipped.
- Build AI-powered platforms and automation or develop solutions that detect and prevent application compatibility issues, depending on team placement.
- Use AI and large-scale data to generate insights and guide engineering decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering and product/program management teams across Windows and Devices.
- Drive scenarios, influence technical direction, mentor less experienced engineers, and promote engineering excellence.
- Contribute to software reliability, testing, measurement, and continuous improvement across the software lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and professional technical engineering experience with coding, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with a major programming or scripting language such as C++, C#, Java, or Python.
- Strong software design, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence outcomes and explain technical content to general audiences.
- Experience leveraging AI technologies in real-world software solutions.
- Ability to resolve ambiguity, prioritize competing needs, drive projects to completion, and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Demonstrated history of promoting engineering excellence, including design for reliability, testing, measurement, and understanding of the complete software lifecycle.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.
