Base Salary
$122k - $186k/yr
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze LLNL intrusion detection systems and provide security monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution support.
- Hunt for cyber threats and perform identification, containment, eradication, and recovery activities.
- Coordinate timely patching and mitigation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Develop software, scripting, and automation solutions to reduce operational overhead.
- Work with operating systems, virtual environments, hardware, and cloud infrastructure in moderately complex server environments.
- At the SES.2 level, manage complex technical tasks and priorities, improve incident response and vulnerability management processes, automate complex tasks, and provide technical guidance to team members.
- Work intermittent off-hours and on-call rotations or as needed to respond to security incidents.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience developing software in Python or other programming languages.
- Technical experience with operating systems, virtual environments, and related hardware in a moderately complex server environment.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with management and staff at all levels.
- Ability to work in a dynamic technical team environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- At the SES.2 level, proficient knowledge of SIEM solutions, EDRs, threat hunting, incident response, incident management, or vulnerability management is required.
- At the SES.2 level, comprehensive experience with host forensics, network forensics, log analysis, malware analysis, incident response investigations, or vulnerability assessments is required.
- Current industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are additional SES.2 qualifications.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree or equivalent knowledge, significant incident response or vulnerability management experience, cloud-services experience, and experience with C, C#, Python, Java, PowerShell, or PHP.
