Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures for enterprise and digital workloads.
- Define cloud reference architectures, reusable patterns, engineering standards, and AWS best practices.
- Review solution architectures for scalability, reliability, availability, performance, security, and cost optimization.
- Partner with enterprise architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams on technology alignment and cloud transformation.
- Design and implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Build and manage AWS infrastructure and services, including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, ELB, RDS, EFS, FSx, S3, KMS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, and CloudWatch.
- Develop Infrastructure-as-Code with CloudFormation and Terraform.
- Create scripts and automation using Python, Ansible, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Implement and support container-based deployments and orchestration platforms.
- Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues, participate in root cause analysis, and recommend preventive actions.
- Design and implement secure cloud architectures using access controls, encryption, secrets management, and least-privilege practices.
- Implement cloud security controls including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, security monitoring, and network security controls.
- Support cloud governance, policy implementation, cloud guardrails, audits, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- 7–8+ years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS core services, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, ELB, RDS, EFS, FSx, S3, KMS, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, CloudWatch, and IAM.
- Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, routing, and security controls.
- Solid understanding of container deployments, orchestration, and lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python, Ansible, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as GitLab, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Ability to design and implement scalable, resilient, secure, and cost-optimized architectures.
- Understanding of cloud security practices, including IAM, encryption, secrets management, and access controls.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and performance-tuning skills.
- Excellent communication skills for working with engineers, architects, management teams, business stakeholders, and security and risk teams.
- Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, or AWS Security Specialty certifications.
- Preferred: experience with AWS AI services such as Bedrock, Bedrock Agents, AgentCore, or other generative AI capabilities.
- Preferred: experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, multi-cloud environments including AWS and OCI, and high-availability or regulated environments.
