Base Salary
$160k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and evolution of your pod's systems end-to-end.
- Make system-level calls on introducing eventing, workflow orchestration, caching, async pipelines, or new services.
- Design for horizontal scale and low latency under real traffic patterns.
- Decompose existing services into scalable components where beneficial.
- Instrument what you build and defend your work with data.
- Ensure quality, reliability, and observability from the start.
- Provide Product and Design options along with recommendations.
- Mentor and elevate the team's architectural and systems thinking.
- Own the SLAs for the surfaces your pod runs.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating high-traffic, customer-facing systems.
- Strong CS fundamentals and object-oriented design skills.
- Fluency in system and cloud-level technologies including eventing and workflow orchestration.
- Comfortable working across multiple languages and stacks.
- Working knowledge of AWS services and database tradeoffs.
- Track record of shipping high-impact, customer-facing features.
- Ability to communicate concisely and provide options with recommendations.
- Big-picture orientation with a focus on systems and outcomes.
- Member-first mindset prioritizing customer, team, and business needs.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools.
