Responsibilities
- Define firmware architecture, select hardware, optimize HAL layers, enable features such as OTA and UDS, and define firmware blocks.
- Design battery and charging application layers, state machines, and algorithms that process data and compute critical parameters such as SoX.
- Take firmware through design, development, validation, production deployment, field debugging, diagnostics, and service documentation.
- Implement firmware safety and reliability practices, including FMEA, code reviews, and risk reviews.
- Work closely with hardware teams and use data to improve battery and charger performance.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience delivering production code for high-volume embedded devices, with at least 3 years emphasized in the posting.
- Strong embedded C/C++ development skills with RTOS/Linux and scripting or automation using Python/Shell.
- Knowledge of embedded hardware, ARM and DSP microcontrollers, ADCs, GPIOs, and USB, CAN 2.0, CANFD, SPI, UART, and ISOTP protocols.
- Experience with static code analysis tools such as LDRA or Polyspace.
- Understanding of cross-functional Agile work, firmware product lifecycle/SDLC, and Git version control.
- Understanding of automotive standards including MISRA C and ISO26262.
- Strong problem-solving skills, quality focus, resilience, and a willingness to build, learn, and iterate.
