Responsibilities
- Lead software development activities across requirements capture, design, coding, verification, and delivery for avionics flight display systems.
- Develop platform and application software using C/Embedded C for complex avionics architectures.
- Work with scheduling, multithreaded programming, RTOS, algorithms, interfaces, and software designs.
- Perform peer reviews of high-level specifications and development artifacts.
- Debug, fix bugs, and enhance existing software.
- Perform freehand testing and regression testing of existing features.
- Ensure software quality before handoff to quality assurance teams.
- Participate in Agile development activities while meeting deadlines and contractual milestones.
- Contribute to the development, selection, tailoring, and deployment of processes, tools, and metrics.
- Propose and help deploy new product and lean-process ideas.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication, or an equivalent discipline.
- 7 to 12 years of relevant experience in software development.
- Expert-level Embedded C programming skills.
- Expertise in memory usage, scheduling, and execution time allocation.
- Good understanding of Integrated Modular Avionics and RTOS.
- Hands-on experience with RTRT, LDRA, or other unit-testing and verification tools.
- Knowledge of data structures and database management.
- Experience with cockpit graphics, Primary Flight Displays, Multi-Functional Displays, and Flight Management System functionality.
- Knowledge of DO-178B/C and coding standards such as MISRA.
- Ability to write system specifications, high-level requirements, low-level requirements, and high- and low-level test procedures.
- Experience in verification, avionics embedded-system software development, and software development life cycles.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as ClearCase or Git.
- Knowledge of avionics protocols including A429, A664/AFDX, RS232, and ARINC 653.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
