Responsibilities
- Design, develop, modify, and validate embedded and cloud-edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs.
- Develop low-level software, interfaces, device drivers, boot code, and board support packages.
- Work with Linux, Android, QNX, or other real-time operating systems, including potential Linux kernel development.
- Debug software using industry-standard debuggers, source-control systems, IDEs, and build tools.
- Apply secure coding, software design, implementation, and modern object-oriented design practices.
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, and test engineers to deliver system-level software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related work experience; or a master's degree plus 1+ year; or a PhD in a related field.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with C, C++, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
- 3+ years of professional experience in embedded software, driver development, low-level software or interfaces, and debugging.
- Experience with Linux, Android, QNX, or another real-time operating system.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, Perforce, or another source-code management system, as well as software development tools.
- Experience with secure coding, BSP development, low-level device driver programming, and boot code development.
- Strong operating-system fundamentals; ARM architecture and Linux kernel development are advantageous.
- Preferred qualifications include 3+ years of experience with database management software, APIs, and software engineering or related work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively on a team.
