Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot production databases, ServiceNow instance performance issues, and Linux performance across on-premises and hyperscaler environments.
- Own complex incident root-cause analyses across large-scale, multi-tenant PostgreSQL and MariaDB fleets.
- Develop observability and automation to prevent recurrence of critical production issues.
- Influence infrastructure decisions shaping the multi-tenant cloud platform.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers across operations, support, and development.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and provide last-level production support.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years with a master's degree, a PhD without experience, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience supporting or testing large-scale web-based distributed applications.
- At least 5 years of experience with multiple relational databases, especially PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of MVCC, transaction management, vacuum mechanics, database and query performance tuning, buffer management, WAL architecture, and backup and restore processes.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with a SaaS, PaaS, or cloud infrastructure product or solution.
- Unix skills covering development, navigation, file manipulation, permissions, file and text searching, and administrative actions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
- Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving, including through AI-powered tools, workflow automation, AI-driven insights, or exploration of AI's impact.
- Preferred experience with the ServiceNow platform, scripting, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Preferred scripting experience with shell scripting, Python, JavaScript, and Ansible.
- Understanding of schemas, tablespaces, indexing, and database performance optimization.
- Familiarity with CentOS or Red Hat operating systems.
- Desired experience on a DevOps, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipeline, performance, or support team supporting a web-based application.
