Responsibilities
- Install, configure, administer, upgrade, patch, maintain, and capacity-plan Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
- Manage OpenShift worker nodes, control plane nodes, Operators, ingress controllers, routes, projects/namespaces, and persistent storage.
- Administer Kubernetes workloads, deployments, services, ingress, networking, storage, and resource optimization on OpenShift.
- Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers, including provisioning, patching, hardening, performance tuning, and security compliance.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Git, and scripting.
- Support CI/CD integrations, deployment automation, application onboarding, and cloud-native application teams.
- Implement OpenShift security controls, RBAC, security policies, secrets management, certificate lifecycle processes, and compliance initiatives.
- Monitor platform availability, performance, resource utilization, alerts, dashboards, and reporting metrics.
- Participate in on-call support and incident response, troubleshoot service disruptions, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain operational runbooks and technical documentation while collaborating with DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Services, and Application Development teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of systems engineering or infrastructure administration experience.
- At least 3 years of hands-on OpenShift and Kubernetes administration experience.
- Experience supporting production container platforms in enterprise environments.
- Strong Linux systems administration experience, including performance tuning and security hardening.
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes, Docker or container runtime technologies, Operators, OpenShift Pipelines, GitOps, and ArgoCD.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Git, and Bash or Python scripting.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and virtualization technologies such as VMware.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, SSL/TLS certificates, network policies, routing, and firewall concepts.
- Experience with monitoring and logging technologies including Dynatrace or AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK or EFK Stack, and OpenShift Monitoring Stack.
- Preferred experience with OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, ArgoCD, GitOps, multi-cluster OpenShift environments, Ceph, NFS, SAN, container security, and vulnerability management.
- Preferred familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering principles and certifications such as Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator, RHCE, CKA, CKAD, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes, or AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud certifications.
