Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective GCP cloud environments.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
- Implement security best practices, IAM policies, and compliance controls.
- Configure VPCs, subnets, firewalls, VPNs, and interconnects for secure cloud networking.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Implement monitoring and alerting with Stackdriver, Prometheus, Datadog, or other tools.
- Optimize cloud spending through committed use discounts, autoscaling, and resource right-sizing.
- Design backup, high-availability, and disaster-recovery strategies.
- Deploy and manage GCP databases including Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, and Spanner.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Google Kubernetes Engine and Cloud Run.
- Build and maintain foundational infrastructure, tooling, automation, and self-service platform capabilities for development and operations teams.
Requirements
- Strong experience with GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, IAM, networking, Kubernetes, and serverless technologies.
- Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD tools, and GitOps workflows.
- Understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, and compliance.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, or Datadog.
- Ability to troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure and solve complex problems.
- Google Cloud certifications such as Associate Cloud Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, or Professional DevOps Engineer are advantageous.
- Ability to use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity and solve business problems while applying critical judgment to data and AI outputs.
