Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver end-to-end features and systems across farmer-facing surfaces, services, and infrastructure.
- Make architectural decisions and implement the resulting production code.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and product teams to ship high-impact features quickly.
- Support and mentor engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and context sharing.
- Contribute to system reliability and performance and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Develop deep domain knowledge by spending time on farms.
- Build frontend, mobile, backend, full-stack, or platform systems depending on team placement.
Requirements
- Experience designing and delivering complex production systems.
- A strong product engineering mindset focused on customer experience.
- Ability to use AI tools effectively to improve team output.
- Experience supporting and mentoring other engineers.
- Comfort working in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
- Experience working in cloud environments; AWS experience is a bonus.
- For frontend or mobile work, strong UX intuition and experience with modern frontend frameworks are desired.
- For backend work, experience with REST APIs, distributed systems, event-driven services, relational and non-relational databases, or hardware and IoT integrations is desired.
- For platform work, experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, observability, and on-call tooling is desired.
- A degree in software engineering or equivalent is nice to have but not essential.
