Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of cloud software applications.
- Develop cloud applications and configure deployment environments for cloud and non-cloud integration.
- Implement applications aligned with program requirements, business goals, and cloud technology roadmaps.
- Coordinate with development teams and customers on designs, estimates, risks, assumptions, and limitations.
- Build and continuously improve automated build, test, and deployment environments using DevOps practices.
- Provide operational support for applications and tools to meet availability and service-level requirements.
- Design, develop, and deploy microservices in Kubernetes-based environments.
- Develop scalable, highly available enterprise cloud systems using containerized workloads, databases, and object storage.
- Research commercial off-the-shelf products and prototype or implement cloud solutions as needed.
- Coach team members on writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of prior relevant experience, or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of prior related experience.
- Ten years of prior related experience may substitute for a degree.
- At least 5 years of cloud software development experience is preferred.
- At least 5 years of object-oriented programming experience with Java, C++, or Python is preferred.
- At least 3 years of Java software development experience, including Web Services, JMS, and application servers, is preferred.
- At least 3 years of JavaScript development experience with in-depth NodeJS or ReactJS knowledge is preferred.
- Experience developing applications using relational and NoSQL databases is preferred.
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation is preferred.
- Experience with JavaScript, JQuery, XML, REST, SOAP, Python, and Bash is preferred.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification or a similar certification for another cloud provider is preferred.
- Experience verifying designs comply with specifications is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust clearance is required.
